407 ETR and its employees announced a donation of $85,619.58 to United Way of York Region today. The donation represents a two-week fundraising campaign among employees and the company’s pledge to donate twice the amount the employees gave.

"Our employees recognized the need and embraced the campaign to help individuals who rely on the United Way for help and security. We’re pleased to participate in such efforts that benefit the communities we serve and live in.”
407 ETR's inaugural United Way campaign proved to be an exciting few weeks. Staff organized a variety of fundraising activities, including a 50/50 draw, candygrams and an office mini-putt competition. Employees of 407 ETR raised a total of $28,539.86. Following through on its earlier commitment, the Company donated $57,079.72 – twice the amount employees gave. The campaign was conducted at 407 ETR’s head office in Woodbridge, Ontario, where 407 ETR employs over 600 people.
“We’re thrilled and honoured by 407 ETR’s efforts to support of the United Way of York Region,” said Rahul Bhardwaj, Chief Executive Officer of United Way of York Region. “This will help us to help other people reach their potential and improve their lives. To date, we’ve collected nearly 70% of our $7.25 million goal. With only a few weeks remaining in this year’s campaign, we encourage other companies to donate.”
