TORONTO, June 16 /CNW/ - 407 ETR has once again been recognized for its world-class technology. Last night, the company was awarded the 2010 New Canadian Commercial Technology/Innovation or Research and Development Award for its Vehicle Fingerprinting program, by the Intelligent Transportation Systems Society of Canada (ITS Canada).

2010 marks the inaugural year of the ITS Canada Awards Program, which was created to celebrate significant and defining people, projects, and initiatives in the Canadian intelligent transportation systems marketplace.

407 ETR Concession Company Limited ("407 ETR") is the operator and manager of Highway 407, which extends 108 kilometres east-west, just north of Toronto. 407 International Inc., the sole shareholder of 407 ETR, is owned by a consortium comprised of Cintra Infraestructuras, Intoll and SNC-Lavalin.
ITS Canada is a non-profit professional society and is the chief focal point for advancing Intelligent Transportation Systems work in Canada. The Society's goals include fostering ITS applications, promoting government-industry cooperation, and strengthening the ITS industry.
