TORONTO, Dec. 31 /CNW/ - 407 ETR today announced toll changes which will come into effect on February 1, 2011.
Starting February 1, 2011, the price charged in various segments of the highway will change. Peak Period tolls for light vehicles travelling in the Regular Zone between QEW and Highway 403, between Highway 401 and Highway 400 and between Highway 404 and Brock Road will be 22.75 cents per kilometre. Toll rates during Peak Hours (weekdays between 7:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. and from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.) will be 22.95 cents per kilometre in these segments.
Peak Period tolls for light vehicles travelling in the Light Zone between Highway 403 and Highway 401 and between Highway 400 and Highway 404 will be 21.25 cents per kilometre (21.45 cents per kilometre during the Peak Hours noted above).
407 ETR has budgeted over $60 million in 2011 to build new lanes and make other improvements. Since 1999, the company has invested $1.2 billion to expand and maintain the highway. New lanes completed in 2010 now bring the total number of individual lane kilometres on the highway to over 1,100.

Changes to the 2011 Toll Schedule include:
- The Video Toll Charge for customers without a transponder will be $3.65.
- The Monthly Transponder Lease Fee will be $2.75 per month. The annual Transponder Lease Fee will remain $21.50.
- The Monthly Video Account Fee will be $2.75.
A Trip Toll Charge is charged for every trip on the highway based on vehicle size:
- Light Vehicles will be charged 50 cents per trip.
- Heavy Vehicles will be charged 60 cents per trip.
- Heavy Multiple Vehicles will be charged 85 cents per trip.
